The Paul Revere House

Paul Revere was a silversmith and industrialist who played important roles during the Revolutionary War, including participating in the famous ride to Lexington on the night of April 18-19, 1775. The Paul Revere House was built around 1680 and occupied by Paul Revere during the period of 1770-1800. The house is a National Historic Landmark and is one of the most popular stops on the Freedom Trail in Boston.

Introducing Guided for Outreach to Boston Area Schools

We partnered with The Paul Revere House to pilot the Guided platform to experiment and prove-out the combination of a live tour plus virtual self-exploration. The first prototype focused on the “Kitchen” and the many artifacts on display there. The initial experience was refined and extended to encompass each room inside the house, the courtyard, and the North Square and approaches.

Complete Historic House Tour with Access to Historic Artifacts

The current experience is used in outreach in Boston-area schools at the grades 1-12 and has been used as live-to-the-classroom using smartboards and live to individual students using iPads and Chromebooks. Notable is that the physical site (the Paul Revere House), the live interpreter, and the audience are at different locations during a session. A fee is charged per group with discounts for Title 1 schools and no charge for Boston Public Schools.
